Class Music

As part of the Music Education program at Haberfield Public School all students in Years 1 to 5 learn the recorder.
All students begin by learning singing, developing skills in pitch, rhythm, language and movement. This is followed by the introduction to the recorder in year 1 and continues through to Year 6. Due to health risks involved in sharing recorders we ask all students to have their own recorder. Quality Yamaha Recorders can be purchased from the school office for $9.00.  Students can if they wish also purchase the recorder tutor for $15.00. The tutor has a CD, which students can practice with.

Musical works by composers from Year 6 have been selected for Sydney Symphony Education  concert.

Composers Laura Kikireov, Madison McAuslan & Isobel Debs of 6/5B & Dominic Czerwinski, Jack Nguyen-Phuoc & Allen Wang of 6C have been selected to perform their musical compositions about 'Scorpions' at the 'Sydney Sinfonia' concert July 29 2010. Click on names to hear their work.

Well done to both groups & good luck for your performances.
