Haberfield Public School supports Stewart House. Stewart House helps children develop Healthy Lifestyles and build self-esteem.

Each fortnight, 90 children from across NSW and the ACT arrive at Stewart House. Children participate in a program and attend the Department of Education and Training school that is within the grounds of Stewart House.

During the program children:
- Receive free eye, dental and health screening and treatment.
- Develop self-care and conflict resolutions skills.
- Learn to relax and overcome anxiety.
- Participate in excursions and activities to develop a broader outlook on life.
- Establish friendships and routines in a safe community.
- Increase their self-esteem.

STEWART HOUSE DAY has the backing of both the NSW Department of Education and Training, the Teachers Federation and the Federation of Parents and Citizens' Associations of NSW. Stewart House has a proud 78 year record of providing short term respite care for over 1,800 public school children in need of a break from their current circumstance each year. It has survived only because of the very generous support of NSW public school staff and school communities who have adopted Stewart House as their No. 1 charity. We are extremely grateful for your ongoing support and donations and sincerely thank you.

Haberfield Public School supports the Exodus Foundation. Each year during Term 4 we ask for donations in support of the Christmas Appeal.

The Exodus Foundation

The Exodus Foundation provides a range of community welfare and development services including crisis support, legal advice, governmental agency assistance and emergency relief.

Our P&C conducts various fundraising events to assist in raising money for our school. The Association is always willing to hear new and innovative ideas to bring the community together. People may be needed to help organise events and are encouraged to bring any ideas to our P&C meetings.

In the past, the P&C has used raised funds towards computer support, classroom equipment, home readers and to improve the school playground. Read more about our P&C here.

Our SRC raises funds annually for Jeans for Genes. Jeans for Genes is a major fundraiser for the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI).

One in twenty children are born with some form of genetic fault. There are children with leukaemia, muscular dystrophy, genetic defects and many other disorders. Scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute are working to try to prevent these diseases before they occur in children, or where that is not possible, to develop better treatments.
