Auditions for the Instrumental Festival of Music

Congratulations to Angela Gao 4K and Gareth Loi 5/4H who auditioned for solos parts in the Instrumental Festival of Music. Angela was successful & will play her violin solo at the Opera House June 23^rd. Well done to Gareth who was commended for his audition.

The Recorder & Strings Ensembles both had important rehearsals over the last two weeks.  Both Jenny Ellyard & I were proud of their music making & behaviour. They're at the Opera House in June 23^rd & it is SOLD OUT!

Well done to the String & Recorder Ensembles, Infants & Senior choirs  who all performed with distinction on Open Day at HPS on Tuesday. A special mention for Georgia Sally-Banks who sang the solo in the ‘Sorry Song’ for National Sorry Day and the Senior choir who were missing a number of members due to the Zone X-Country.

Class Music –
All students from Year 1 – 6 must have their own recorder for class lessons. Quality Yamaha recorders are available from school office for $9.00.
Tutor books & CDs are also available to assist with students practice for $15.00.

Recorder Ensemble – 8.20 2J Ms. Ellyard’s room.

Thursdays

Intermediate Band – 8.20, Big Hall
Junior Choir – 1.10 pm, Big Hall

Fridays

Junior Band – 8.20, Big Hall.

Guitar & String Students can join the Senior band in 2009. Guitar players need to arrange an audition with Mr. Jeffrey. String Players must be able to play ‘School Song’ & ‘Advance Australia Fair’ – See Mr. CW.

Special Date for diary, performing arts FESTA NIGHT Tuesday June 30^th.
All members of musical ensembles, bands, & choirs are expected to attend & perform.
Auditions for solo spots will be conducted during class music over the next few weeks. See Mr. CW

Important Dates.
June 23^rd - Instrumental festival at the Sydney Opera house.
July 7^th – Junior Choir, Primary Proms rehearsal all day.
August 25^th - Junior Choir, Primary Proms rehearsal & concert at The Hills Art Centre.
September 27^th – Senior Choir Sydney Region Music Festival at The Sydney Opera House.
