All students from K to Year 6 attended the Sydney Sinfonia Concerts at Sydney Olympic Park this week. The Orchestra was made up of principal players from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra & young orchestral players from around Australia. The conductor was Warwick Tyrell who wore a very attractive earring & guided us expertly through the music.
The students enjoyed music by Mozart, Brahms, Australian composer Matthew Hindson along with our very own Haberfield composers Laura, Madison, Isobel (6/5B) & Jack, Alan, Dominic (6C).
The Sydney Sinfonia has developed a tradition of training young orchestral musicians, and a culture of mentoring amongst the musicians of the Sydney Symphony. For 15 years now, the Sydney Sinfonia training and mentoring orchestra has given outstanding emerging professionals invaluable experience working alongside accomplished musicians as part of a performing orchestra. Many former members have achieved positions in professional orchestras around the world.
