Haberfield PS is a member of the Western Suburbs Primary School's Sports Association
Our school is a member of the Western Suburbs Primary School's Sports Association.
Our ZONE covers 19 schools from the inner west of Sydney and the Association is a member of the Sydney East Primary School's Sports Association which is affiliated with the New South Wales Primary Schools' Sports Association.
The Association was formed in 1969 with the aim of promoting sport through inter-school competition among the Zone's primary school children.
The total population of these schools is approximately 4500 boys and girls aged eight to thirteen years.
At the beginning of each season, trials will be held in each sport in which Haberfield PS participate in as part of the WSPSSA. Ability to perform as a member of a team is paramount in this selection procedure.
The sports in which we choose to participate will be determined by school policy, needs of students and the ability to meet guidelines/criteria as set out by the Association.
Children, who are absent due to ill health or family circumstances, may be considered for selection or trial at a later date.
Representatives have additional responsibilities including: Attending training, Wearing the entire uniform, Adhering to school rules, Understanding and adhering to the rules specific to the activity, Meeting any associated costs and Reading and committing to a code of conduct – including behaviour during transport and when indirectly supervised.
